The Gold of Tiptur: Why We Use

If you ask anyone in Karnataka where the best coconuts come from, the answer is always the same: Tiptur.

We are proud to belong to the Tiptur belt. The unique soil and climate here produce coconuts with the highest oil content and sweetest flavor in the world. In fact, Tiptur Copra is so distinct that it is currently being pushed for a GI (Geographical Indication) Tag, marking it as a world-class agricultural treasure.

But simply growing in Tiptur isn't enough. How you turn that coconut into oil matters just as much.

At Sarvaani, we make our Cold-Pressed Dry Coconut Oil differently than the commercial market. Here is the inside story of our "Gold Standard."

1. The Ingredient: Ball Copra vs. Open Cups

Most coconut oil you buy is made from "Cup Copra" (broken, open pieces). These are often dried in the open sun or kilns, where they attract dust, insects, and moisture, leading to fungus. To fix this, manufacturers often treat them with Sulphur.

We refuse to do that. We use exclusively Ball Copra (Whole Copra).

  • The Method: The coconut is left intact inside the shell. It dries naturally over months, protected by the shell itself.

  • The Result: When we finally break the shell, the copra inside is pristine, sweet, and sterile. No dust. No fungus. No sulphur. Just pure Tiptur goodness.

2. The Machine: Stainless Steel vs. Mild Steel

This is a detail most brands hide. The "Ghani" (machine) used to crush the seeds is usually made of Mild Steel (MS) because it is cheap. The problem? Mild Steel can rust and react with the oil, subtly altering the taste and quality.

At our unit, we invested in high-end machinery from Andavar, the most respected name in oil extraction technology.

  • We use a Food-Grade Stainless Steel (SS) Ghani.

  • It is non-reactive, rust-proof, and hospital-grade clean.

It costs us more to set up, but it ensures that the oil touching the metal stays 100% pure.

3. The Price: Why is it affordable?

Customers often ask: "If this is so high quality, why is it cheaper than your Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO)?"

The answer is Science, not quality.

  • VCO is made from fresh coconuts(low yield).

  • Cold-Pressed Copra Oil is made from dried copra (high yield).

Because the dried copra gives us more oil per kilogram, the cost of production comes down. We pass that benefit directly to you. It is the perfect affordable option for daily use.

4. How to Use It

While our VCO is famous for baby care and raw consumption, our Tiptur Cold-Pressed Coconut Oil is the workhorse of the kitchen.

  • For Cooking: It is excellent for deep frying and traditional South Indian curries. The aroma of Tiptur copra elevates any dish.

  • For Hair: It is the classic "Champne" (massage) oil. It nourishes the scalp without the sticky, chemical feel of mineral oils.

From the heart of Tiptur, to your home.
